27 stage wins, pretty impressive...

That crash looked substantial...
I never saw Contador's tumble earlier-is he walking wounded or come away ok?
-
• #80
First time yellow for Cav, well done!
-
• #81
How Contador didn't break his collarbone I don't know! He landed on a traffic island and slid down the curb onto the road beyond it.
-
• #82
Race doc said his injuries were superficial.

Ouch. Sounds like he pulled a Cancellara move then.
I love watching the sprinters' faces in slo-mo as they realise someone else has won, the muttering of swear words under the breath, the frowns... Pathos indeed.

Faaaaaaaarrrrrckkkk. The impact looks solid enough to do damage. He'll probably race for the next 3 weeks with a broken arm/leg/shoulder/skull then retire on the penultimate stage.

Ha! French commentator: "il y aura pas de Brexit pour Mark Cavendish aujourd'hui!"
Contador crossing the line looks like he's just been attacked by a group of trainee nurses-loads of bandages up his right arm/shoulder.

Flecha mate, nice new shirt, but you're meant to iron it before wearing. Does no one prepare these guys for real life?

Proper happy for Cavendish.

Dead happy for Cavendish! Feel he's been written off a little as of late, especially with all the Olympic chat. Good to see he's still the man.

Peter Sagan for the Multijersey.
-
• #91
I'd suspect his Olympic prep stood him in good stead today. With a tailwind that would've been a very fast sprint so the extra leg speed he'll have from his track training might have made the difference.

I guess there was some thought cav would ditch the tour before the mountains to go back and train for the track. You think he is now fancying his chances on the champs elysee?

The commentator on Eurosport who isn't Sean Kelly really is a dickhead. He was so busy getting a hardon for Sagan in yellow that he didn't even notice Cav was in the race, and when it finally dawned on him his allegiances changed like lighting and he starts screaming and shitting himself! Is that actually a PAYE job that someone pays him a living wage for?

Used canyon anyone?

Bert's slide'n'bump from another angle, his front wheel went in the corner and he took Bookwalter with him. Ouch.
-
• #96
De Jongh was blaming Bookwalter for that crash when talking to the press after the stage. Clearly Contador lost his front wheel and took out Bookwalter and Luke Rowe.
-
• #97
Actually, Carlton Kirby had already, earlier on, picked Cavendish as the rider he would like to win the stage.

Just watched the highlights - Oof, what a sprint! Had a great big grin on my face!

Y no Liggett?
I didn't see him beating Kittel. He absolutely scorched him.
