Quite a signing that. Looking forward to see him play in the PL.
Don't think many people would've predicted two years ago that Palace would be snapping up the best talent in Europe.

@prole. Know Palace have new ownership, but £32m for Batshuayi is big money. Can the new TV deal have given them that much money? And what are his weekly wages going to be?
I'm surprised, really surprised, especially since we were balking at the asking price.Wonder if Pardew will fuck him off as he's done the majority of his strikers in his managerial career...

That's a pretty inspiring shortlist when you hear that Shearer is after the job
I went to see the FA four or five years ago and I said, ‘I want it, I’ll have that job’. They looked at me and said, ‘No, it’s a lack of experience’. And I said, ‘You’ve hired experienced guys, you’ve paid them an absolute fortune, I could not have done any worse than those guys’.

Wrong thread, pal.
This is for domestic football and ripping Liverpool to shreds only.

Looks like we've done another Willian. If true, I'd be very pleased.

Feels like Marseille were using Palace as staking horses to get the most cash possible for Batshuayi.
So £33m rising to what? £40m with add ons?Does this mean that Costa stays? Or is there another sniper bid for a striker happening soon?

Batshuayi
From 5 mins of watching him in the euros, he's lucky to get that goal.

At least El Hadji Diouf and Papa Bouba Diop played well in a couple of tournament games to earn their big money moves.

Sure thing. The kid has been scoring on a regular basis for four years and is at 0.4 goals a game and is still only 22.

Yeah, but Zlatan does well in the French league.

Yeah, but Zlatan does well in the French league.
So did Giroud and Lacazette.

Funny how Liverpool's new signings have mostly been completely ignored. Glad we got in early before all the sharks
-
• #129242
Probably because they are mostly relative nobodies. Apart from Mane.

• #129243
Who the hell is Batshuayi then?

Pricey is what.

Defoe did < 0.3 gpg, add a handicap factor of 15% as these were scored in the PL vs 1e klasse and ligue 1.
So Batshuayi just shades it over an early Defoe. He also has more than double the assists.

It's because no one cares about or likes Liverpool, other than plastics and a handful of scousers. Also, there's London media conspiracy - don't forget that.
Get over it. -

Says the man who's team finished third in a two horse race and is composed mostly of bottlers

What a short memory you have.
-
• #129250
Which is not usually something you can accuse plastic scousers of.
Now that shower of shit is finally over for England we can get back to talking about real football. It seems Liverpool have struck early in the transfer market and bought a seemingly top-notch striker. Good work. Now all we need are two centre backs a left sided defender, two midfielders and a goalie and next season could be ours to fuck up again
