  • Jesus thats awful! WAC.

  • Definitely.

He was probably late to work too, probably missed the office coffee round. That'll ruin his day.

  • What a shitty way to start the day!

Is the car park on Lavington Street? I'm trying to picture it.

  • Came off my bike and hit the ground shoulder first then head. Heard the bone break just before my helmet made contact. Def glad I was wearing a helmet!

  • Unlucky :(

But none of your fault maybe? It can happen to anyone. Badly placed manhole covers moi, handlebars hit ground first luckily, ice on the road (guy from commute group), oil on roundabout (Le Manfriend)...

  • Pretty much got caught out but I was going a bit to quick and didn't realize till I hit the ground and heard it pop. I should have a bit more onto but had a crappy weekend and Monday so wasn't 100% there so only have myself to blame. Ah well!

  • :(

With that and Belfast racism, I'm not so sure these messages of "don't be a dick" are reaching the right people.

  • Yeah, it's set back from the road, a high metal fence surrounds it.

Lavington Street is very short, easy to streetview it.

I could have had the confrontation, I'll always remember the top tip to just grab the bottom of the helmet and rattle the thing around a bit. But to be honest, I'm not one for violence, and was already shaky from a couple of forced near-death moments. Calling the police was the easy thing to do and did have the effect of calming him down and making him leave, which meant I could safely head into the building and get on with dull stuff like showering.

  • You never know now what people are carrying these says as well. But he sounds like a complete cunt so you did the right thing calling the cops and hopefully he hasn't ruined your day!

  • I work on Lavington Street. I know the one. Should I be able to see your bike? I'm in Europoint house, 1st floor, overlooking the car park.

  • Green bike, in the covered storage, under the CCTV, in the closed car park. I'm not that brave on locking it outside, but hey... I helped pick the office and could dictate terms on the cycle storage :)

CloudFlare are on the 2nd floor... the terrace with the green netting and picnic tables.

  • Oh hai!

    Silver mudguards, rear rack?

We're directly in front of the gate. If I'd been on time today I would have probably seen all this unfold.

  • That's the one.

And it was at 09:02-09:12 (so the CCTV says).

I could probably see in your windows ;)

  • I'm next door in the Crane building next to Citizen M.

Always amazed by the Allen that is locked up outside 25 still being there at the end of the day. We have a courtyard with parking which is nice as I store a couple of bikes at work because my flat is so small.

  • I notice that Alan too. Also always amazed it's still there every day.

Do bike thieves not recognise it?

I'm tempted to get another car park pass and offer it to the owner (if I ever see them).

  • You'd just be watching me being on here for the most part. And you'd be able to see my monitors too. My back's to the window.

@salmonchild I've seen that Alan. I wouldn't lock it there.

Although I've been trying to convince my boss that we should move somewhere else since Pickles closed down....

Where is a decent bacon sandwich/fry up to be found round here?

  • The police have got back in touch.

They've tracked the scooter rider, visited his work (must've been embaressing) outlined the claims, he admitted them. The police then proceeded to tell him the consequences of his actions were they to press charges, but they're not going to do so. He admitted being a dick (perhaps not literally, (yes literally)) and they've given him a good talking to.

I'm kinda fine with that. All I wanted was for him to realise he is accountable for his actions and that it could be severe, and in the moment of this morning for me to safely get out of the car park without getting into a fight. I guess, mission accomplished on both fronts.

Today, I kinda like the police... maybe I'll fill in the "Rate Your PC" card they gave me. Even though it is badly capitalised.

  • Even though it is badly capitalised.

I am certain that Schick has been haranguing them about that for years.

Sensible outcome. Glad you are OK.

  • Good outcome there Velocio, good work

  • Only vague point of interest on my commute today was seeing Jack Wilshere stood outside a closed phone shop knocking on the door. Did a double take, but it was definitely him.

  • The Table used to do a decent one but it's definitely cafe and not caff.

  • That's a pretty decent outcome. Good work.

  • That's a positive and sensible result.
If you rate the rozzers highly maybe it'll encourage them to do the same thing for someone else.

  • you are Dancing James aicmfp
