We can flip flop as much as we like before we trigger Article 50. Once we do that though, it's final.

The EU are holding that position to weaken the UK's negotiating power. Similarly the "there are no pre-negotiations, they must submit their Article 50 and get this started" line.
The biggest bargaining chip the UK has is the £8bn net contribution it makes to the EU each year. That's a considerable hole to be filled in and the other remaining 27 countries would need to cover it or take a hit themselves.

I'm hoping for wisdom from the EU on this rather than a "Fuck you" attitude.
A FU can cost them dearly, now showing some compassion can keep it together. Maybe. But FU and its over.

Did you factor in the devaluation of Sterling? If not then the FTSE 250 is down almost bang on 24%.

Forrins saying UK must act on the referendum before any talks.
Can't help but admire the firmness of their stance. -

I got €3.47 in front of the stereo. I'm hoping to pay of my student loan at the end of the month.

Hoping it's a big game of chicken.
It's moronic if the UK goes, it can topple the whole EU in 10-12 years.

So, does anyone know if BoJo or Pob bothered to turn up to the debate today?
I thought I saw someone saying both were AWOL.

Not my photo, I pulled it from a friends facebook. But this was apparently the commons today... hardly a full turnout.

Yes, I agree with you, but I think they are very exhausted and have a lots of face to face experience in dealing with the Tories.

"A real blow for peace and democracy in the EU". (On brexit)
Whatever Pilger is smoking please.
Unless all eu countries do a fuck off to the EU elite nothing will change, it will just topple, and then what?
The bad will go and the good with it.

I've started saying 'I'm off for a massive Brexit' when going for a shit at work.
Seems to go down well...

It's not a fun job at all no... but they fecked over greece in some things. Do this and it may be the end.
Hoping they wise up, compromise and focus more on redevelopment for all and restrain banks. But not too hopeful on that either atm...maybe many more cracks need to show for that.

I know that the EU are cunts, but today I read an interview of Romano Prodi, a big head Italian politician and technocrat honest person who have been sacked by internals of his own party etc etc and he is one the founders of this EU thing... and he said that time ago he spend some time dealing with some of these Tories... He said that they are terrible pretty much.

I would rather have whatever Lindsay Lohan was smoking with her Twitter commentary. I'd be off my fucking face for days.

I can't see the Tory MPs allowing a general election when they get to choose a new leader of the country unchallenged ( 2/3 of the house need to agree on a premature election I think).
How much clout have we got in negotiating a new deal with Brussels? We are (were) roughly the second strongest economy, the English speaking international point of contact for business, good diplomats and generally decent people... It's in their interests to keep us no? I've just about got over my rage, I wonder if the continent can and conjure up some kind of group hug.

Ok, let's hope.
But.... the EU aren't going to turn around and say "oh, silly you, boys will be boys, welcome back". There's no turning back now.
