You mean longer crank arms?
I run 165mm cranks and could move to 175mm but that would just be a mere 10mm plus the enjoyment of pedal strike at every corner...
-
• #108808
Maybe I misunderstood, do you want the saddle lower or higher?
-
• #108809
I've run 175s on my track bike for the past 2 years. Never had pedal strike. Track bikes typically have high BBs which make up for it
-

That looks mint for its age.
-
• #108811
I need the saddle to be higher by about 20mm

Tonight's result:
Specialized AWOL x Alfine x belt drive - 1
Scorch - 0
Of course, I cannot get the fucking circlip on the fucking Alfine, but that's not the biggest issue. Belt line is totally fucked up! I moved the cranks and BB around four times already (inner/outer position, two BB spacers, one spacer, no spacers) and looked at the line so intensely for so long that I can't figure out which way is it now fucked - inside or out :(
Worst of it all is that where I am, no LBS is willing to fix that shit for no amount of money for me as they have no experience with belts etc. Going to have to continue my struggle alone...

ah, you're already running 165's.

To maintain the same leg extension, shorter cranks require the saddle to be raised.

Wow
Love this - Inspires me to do a better job of mine

I have no experience with belts but Id say work it out with verniers not by eye. Measure from the centre of the frame to the inner edge of the belt at the sprocket and chainring(beltring?) and compare the distances. If its still noisy/doesnt run smooth then the problem is something else

thanks, I'll try that tonight
the line is clearly visually off
re: noise, the problem is, it's my first time with alfine as well, i'm not sure what should it sound like :) -

It's pretty good but a long way from mint. I'm not a fan of repsraying older frames but i've heard the paint is so thick on early Spec's that scuffs can be carefully flatted back and repolished which i might try
-
• #108823
Which is what I was suggesting, but I can't see him wanting to go lower than 165's though.

still waiing

To maintain the same leg extension, shorter cranks require the saddle to be raised.
For everyone - TL;DR
I have a Condor Track with an integrated seatpost mast (ISP).
I need to raise the saddle by circa 20mm in order to get appropriate leg extension.
I could use a wider profile saddle but they don't look good on the bike.
I could use longer cranks but that wont provide sufficient leg extension.
I can't buy a longer ISP clamp as apparently it doesn't exist...
Seriously cool. What size tyres/wheels?
