10 pitch is not titallition but vulgar obscenity. To try to push from a global 1/2" standard pitch rollerchain-- recall it was only a decade or so before that the block chain with its 1" pitch faded from use and was completely replaced by the roller chain on the track-- to a proprietary metric 10mm chain was like hawking air conditioneers to Inuits. Shimano's main argument was 10% weight saving over standard 1/2 x 1/8 drivetrains. Nothing wrong with a metric pitch-- Gates, for example, uses 11mm pitch in their Carbon Drive belt system-- but there was really no technical issues to demand a shift-- compare, for example, with the needs on chain construction for multigear systems (with the new SRAM 12s Eagle dropping outer width down to 5.25mm width from 5.6mm on 11, 6.2mm on 10, 6.7mm on 9, 7.1mm on 8 and ..) which continue to use the same 1/2" pitch (and, more or less same 3/32" inner width).
10 pitch !
