  • GXP to shimano hollowtech 2 adapter?

Thinking I'll buy an adapter to make future bb changes cheaper as apparently they exist but can't seem to search the right thing to find them.

  • GXP to shimano hollowtech 2 adapter?

Which way round? HT2 cranks will never go in a GXP BB. It is possible to bush the NDS of a HT2 BB to take GXP axles, but I don't approve.

External bearing BBs are cheap, why mess around? Buy the right one for your cranks.

  • Anti rotational washer for Sachs super 7.

    8.8mm measured I think, so 9mm I suppose. And 10mm axis.

Help where can one buy such a thing?😃 I don't think sjs dies parts as tiny as that.

  • Which brake calipers for the grey coloured Charge Plug?

Regular road calipers don't have a deep enough drop.

  • Shimano BR-R451 or Tektro R539 if you're after a mid price 57mm drop side pull caliper

  • Getting some MKS toe clips and double straps. I'm a size 43-45 European (depending on the shoe), the toes clips come in medium/large/x large.

    Large 40-44
    X large 44-48

Which one shall I get. Tighter better? Or will the straps take care of that so I should go XL?

  • Safest bet is L, with spacers added if not enough length, though I'm your size (wide too) and have done fine with XL in the past.
Straps will cover any girth issues.

  • Best external 1 1/8" headset for a winter training bike? It's got to be black and well sealed. I'm currently thinking Hope, but other suggestions welcome.

  • Chris King surely?

  • Can't really fault my Hope headset. It must have done well over 10k miles and been out in all weathers. Still running well.

  • Seems rather opulent for a winter trainer - Chris King that is. Currently thinking either Hope or FSA.

  • Cane creek 40 seem pretty decent, although I've never had problems with FSA Orbit's either.

  • Ritchey Comp Logic, less than £20, have cartridge bearing.

Look naff compare to the higher end headset but last eon.

  • That's cartridge bearing? Look good for £20 (Planet X).

  • Doesn't the comp only have a cartridge lower bearing?

  • There's nothing special about cartridge bearings, they are used to save the manufacturer of the assembly the trouble of making bearing races and seals. In fact, loose balls are better for a headset, as you can use a full complement and fit more/larger balls into the same space as a cartridge.

  • Tru fax, but when people inevitably don't service them often enough or run them loose, the races don't get fucked and they're easier to fix.

  • And I think the comp is only cartridge lower, pro or con.

  • Best bang for buck is Cane Creek 40 imo

  • FSA Orbit MX is £16 on SJScycles right now. Good value.

Any suggestions for where to get brake cable guides brazed east-ish?

  • China?

  • Duh, I should've been more specific. I meant somewhere in the western hemisphere, preferably in Europe, closer to the United Kingdom. Ideally in England, near London. Maybe somewhere towards Hackney.

Also, I need the shop to exist and be open now and in the near future (within the next week) because backwards time travel seems impossible. And it has to be in this space-time continuum, as I have limited access to parallel universes.

  • Would it be criminal or tasteful to remove the decals from my Hed Jet 6 wheels that look like so?
