What is that?
-
• #6181
Dont have it yet. Hopefully this saturday, if not then tuesday.

• #6182
That's a rigid lefty on a Slate
-
• #6183
What is the point of that? Defeats the point of getting a slate.
-
• #6184
Yeah. It's kinda dumb.
Now if they made one with a headshok...
-
• #6185
I call bullshit - you have to have at least one picture of it, i know you wouldn't buy blind!

Perhaps to make it more affordable I guess? I'd love to get the Slate but they're aren't exactly cheap.
Plus no need to worry about Lefty maintenance.

Reliability and endurance. What's the point of a road bike that has a 40 hour service interval on the shock?
And on that point:
New Habbit SE gets a Pike; fucking obvious product speccing for what is supposed to be a bike for megalolz not lyrca XC hounds.

Can't be a production model. The colour's too good.

Is project 76 built yet....?
-
• #6191
The 76 refers to how many months it will take to complete.
-
• #6192
It's being built on Monday, by Jeremy (nee Marius*) at Soho Bikes, stop in and heckle.
*He changed his name post-Brexit to avoid persecution, don't tell anyone!

Jeremy
Interesting choice of name - I wonder if the connotation is deliberate.

before the slate there was...
for sale on a local fb page for £650 if anyone wants to be put in touch
-
• #6196
What size is it?
-
• #6197
The cyclocross headshok and the StreetX were probably closer to the Slate than the Silk Road; effectively a standard road bike with a dash of travel.
That said, Rad, and Rad paint

My bet is 54

I also like the idea of a slightly lighter Slate without the Lefty.
Is the rigid lefty not UCI legal for cx?
-
• #6200
Well, uci legality has never really been an issue for most people who race cross :)
Practicality is a key concern tho
And rigid lefty has no upside to offer to balance against the downsides of requiring special hubs, having to remove ya brake caliper to get ya wheel off and the ride offered which I suspect is going to be very unforgiving compared to a modern carbon fork.
Still I can see why they've done it - slate is a bit lame without a killer feature, whether it makes sense or not.
it is actually a Look xD
