  • I disagree. I'd hope that someone choosing to have a child is a greater act than voting for some self serving politician.

  • Throw DJ into the mix as the non-voter and we've got a party

  • On this occasion, you would not have been voting for any politician.

  • Which is why I voted on this occasion.

My point is usual parliamentary elections seem comparatively insignificant and pointless and voting in them is not the greatest thing someone can do in their life.

  • That's an individualist take on things. Participating in collective action doesn't have a direct and tangible effect on you at that moment, but does affect bigger things than you.

  • Nope, children are the fucking worst. No one ever achieved greatness while staring bleary eyed at their ridiculously hideous offspring and saying "no Tarquin, don't put that in your mouth" for the 85th time that morning.

I suppose we could observe a degree of greatness stemming from a desire to escape from said vile cake eating dwarves but that's as close as procreating gets.

The sooner we can clone offspring at a point of adulthood or near adulthood the better.

  • Have to say the Stay campaign have got their shit together re. pavement pounding, knocking on doors and hanging around tube/rail stations etc. Not seen any organised Leave campaign

  • Statistically insignificant. Civically important. Spoiling is an option.

  • Apparently the local labour party apparatus has stepped up massively where the national party was a bit meh

  • The campaigns seem to be mobilising in areas where they think they have a lot of support, to ensure their supporters vote, rather than trying to win people over now.

Are you in a very 'in' neighbourhood?

  • Lewisham so probably

  • I suspect the cause and effect is backwards there. Areas with a lot of remain voters will have more volunteers. When I looked at volunteering they offer locations based on proximity to your home post code.

  • Put my ₹ in the box, mostly. In crayon.

  • Just had a Remain campaigner knock on the door to see if we'd voted (I have, other half is out doing it now). Didn't get that in the General Election, but then we're in a safe Labour seat.

  • Three remain-campaigners by Forest Hill station, one outside Saino's, all reminding people to vote.

  • SHIT! Was it today?

  • I hadn't suggested that producing a virus with shoes was necessarily a good thing!

  • We had this - they just came to the front door, asked for my wife by name and then asked if she'd voted. They didn't ask for me, would they know that I'd already postal voted? Never had that before.

  • Have to say the Stay campaign have got their shit together re. pavement pounding, knocking on doors and hanging around tube/rail stations etc. Not seen any organised Leave campaign.

I was in Wimbledon earlier and there was one tweeded-up bloke shouting "VOTE LEAVE!!" at the top of his voice (so loudly that not only was he was pink, there were those special dump exertion veins sticking out in his forehead), whilst the remain campaigners were handing out stickers and saying "thank you" whilst remaining calm.

  • I'm on a labour list somehow so I always get knocked up at elections

  • What the fuck. That's the kind of paranoid shit you see from the Tea Party.

    "Watch for masonic interference! #theilluminatiarereal"

  • Sorry, I really dislike self-professed Liberals. They turn fence-sitting into political action and act as if everyone else is deluded and confused, and unable to reflect rationally.

Clearly you're just unable to grasp that someone might have a more subtly nuanced opinion than yourself.
