Sounds dodgy though.

She's in a relationship with a cyclist, so there is a fair chance she has access to some good gear

It was at Highgates Night of the 10k PBs though - so at least the name checks out.
There's a Letsrun thread raking up the muck.

Given the state of athletics, surely it should be the other way around?
-
• #5206
That was a fortnight ago. Why is this coming up now?

Fair point. But would anyone really date this man without an ulterior motive?
I think General Lucifer once described him as having a face like a knee.

Low blow.

If you are reading, sorry Dan.

or dead

Nope, that's why I'm asking if it's a plausible improvement.
Ah, if she's only done three races than claiming doping is bullshit.
-
• #5213
EPO without taking advantage of the extra training capacity = fuck all benefit.

Does the IAAF not do bio passports then? I must confess I'm far less clued-up into the anti-doping sports other than cycling do - other than to know that mostly, they do fuck all.
Doesn't look good regarding Farah though, which is a massive shame, especially with regards to today's political climate. -

The International Association of Athletics Federations introduced their Athletes Biological Passport programme in 2009.
http://www.iaaf.org/news/press-release/athlete-biological-passport-a-promising-new-sThere's a programme in place.
Have impression there isn't much confidence in the out of competition testing.

I love that this website puts Parkrun results alongside Diamond League meetings.

Just had a flick through the that thread. Sports becoming poisonous

You say that, but my colleagues at work have said they've had olympic and elite level runners at the Bushy Park Parkrun.

It was. Her previous pb was in April, here new pb was in May.
That seems like a lot of maturing in a short space of time.
There's a good summary here, including various pb calculators:

More speculation though.
Do we know if she's got a coach? That alone could see a major improvement, be it through legal or non-legal means. When did she move to Andorra? Could regular training at altitude be a factor in her improvement?
Basically, there's loads of unanswered questions, but in my view simply accusing her of doping is the easy way. If you're going to do that (and I don't mean you personally) then you need to back it up with some evidence.

All I'm saying is that it's enough to raise my eyebrows.
I'm not accusing her of doping directly, but her performance is making me question, like you, how it was achieved.

Marginal gains?
-
• #5223
Which is absolutely valid. It's one hell of an improvement.
But the first year I consistently rode 1o mile TTs, I improved my time by about 4 minutes as I learnt how hard I could push myself, and how to pace it. So big improvements are possible.

The 10k is so much about pacing, isn't it? To run fast times in the big meets, they get one or two runners to act as pacemakers. So the pace the race is run at is very important - as is learning how hard you can push yourself for the.. .what, 33 minutes?
Do you know how many 10k track races she'd run before? When had she set her previous PB? It's all speculation and insinuation.
Added: Her previous 10k pb was set in her first ever 10k track race, and this race was her third ever.
I've no idea if she dopes or not, but you can't build a watertight case based on the fact that, at the age of 23, she beat her previous 1ok pb, and she lives in Andorra.
