Yeah sounds like your best bet, I would offer mine but its 130bcd so no good for you. 34/30 is 29.8 gear inches, so if you had a 38 on the front you would need a 34T cassette to get the same ratio. Which is feasible, but a faff and probably not ideal spacing beating gears
