The best phone mount IMO is the QuadLock. I have one with the sticky universal mount on my xperia and it's rock solid.
When I did a 4-day trip in the Netherlands I just used strava+phone for routes. Took an external battery as backup but didn't really need it as my phone could handle the ~6 hours of riding a day without dying. Maybe a dedicated device like the edge touring might be better, particularly in a less cycling friendly place than the Netherlands, but strava routes + phone is what I had to hand and I had no issues at all.
