Not sure how I missed this at the time. A stirring speech (fast forward to 12min 22 seconds)

  • Farage is apparently the same age as Keanu Reeves, according to the university of twitter.

  • Entirely superfluous to the debate but is anyone else craving a Spitting Image Referendum Special?

  • Or a Screenwipe

  • That's the fella.

  • Farage is 5 months older. But let's be honest, Farage was 52 when he was a toddler.

  • As usual, Ben Goldacre nails it.

  • anyone watching the bbc debate?

boris johnson got a standing ovation. the thick cunts are going to walk it aren't they?

  • 'the british people are tired of hearing from experts'
    welcome to america

  • Gove is a fucking chief.

  • Remain speaks to logic, reason and intelligence and leave prays on fear and appeals to emotions.

Emotions are going to win over logic.

  • One of Farage's sons also went to Dukwich and is a big thrash metal fan. I don't think that proves anything though.

  • Wasn't one of the reasons for Ukraine a risk that Russia would get bigfuckoff missiles very close? Other than that, can't fault Goldacre.

"with such well know worker's rights champions such as IDS and Gove..."

  • Can we export him somewhere far far away from the UK?

  • My 70-something year old parents are wonderful people and therefore staunchly remain. Their best friends are also remain, and have tweeted that people over 40 shouldn't even get a say in this. Some other friends of theirs (who my folks expected to be berexit) apparently spoke to their daughter about it and are voting remain because it's what she's doing. They've even been promoting that on Facebook.

Full marks to oldy lefty Bradfordy types. Young people and London can't take all the credit if we stay in.

  • My parents are both over 70 and are proud old school socialists. My Father hated Thatcher and everything she stood for and her successors have been all gong and no dinner. He coined the phrase "Not Labour" to Tony's "New Labour" mutterings and will never forgive the man for acting as a lap dog to George Bush's America.

Last week, someone foolishly assumed that he was in the leave camp so he saw fit to tear them off a strip. There are some "Vote Leave" clowns along their road, but Essex seems to be one of the heartlands of leave.

I'm really rather worried about the whole situation.

  • I'm rather shitting it too. To the point of making sure that most of my savings aren't in GBP at least for now.

  • Feeling a bit on the fence and it's not comfortable.
Just watched this Toby young not his biggest fan but .... 😐

  • RE: age groups....both of my in-laws (late 60s/early 70s) are planning on voting leave. It was pointed out to them that their children + spouses all have jobs/careers with high European involvement and that they were essentially voting against our futures. And fucking over the long term prospects for the grandkids at the same time.

Didn't appear to have entered their thinking before that. "The Selfish Generation" indeed.

  • "If your head says Remain but your heart says Leave, remember one is for thinking and the other is a pump."

  • I thought people in their 70s and older were more likely to vote Remain? The "selfish generation" is a few years younger than that. Thought there some chat about it on this thread a few days ago.

  • My parents are just about 70. They, I think, are both out. Because they're tits like that.

  • Where is this from please?

  • The Baby Boomers have pretty much cornered the Selfish Generation tag.

I did see something here or on the News thread about the age demographics of remain/leave and I recall that it was skewed with those over 65 predominately out.

  • Indeed. Where's the quote from? I recognise it but can't place it.
