  • Does anybody know how to stop a seatpost with internal "guts" slipping?

    It's one of these ones:

It rotates backwards after a while. I can't get in an inner tube, all I can think of is an alu shim. Should I get new "seatpost guts"?

  • There's an old trick used on the splines of motorcycle gearchangers etc. that might work. Obtain some sewing needles and loosen it all off and maybe even open it a bit more; then slide some needles into the gap between the "guts" and the stem's clamp then tighten up. The needles should gain some purchase somewhere and prevent further slippage. Once tightened you should be able to snap the protruding needle ends off with a pair of pliers.
