Para is the only way I'd get into an Olympics. I'll think about it.
It's never stayed numb this long before. It'd always go away as soon as I sat up which is why I've always thought it was blood flow related. Also it never happened in longer races 100s, 12s, 24s but now, after doing loads of stretching it's worse in a 100. Perhaps I cured the vascular issue and now it's a trapped nerve or something. Stupid feeble human body.I had soup, pasta, wine, tiramisu the night before #fatfuck
Had an energy bar when I woke up, bit of carb drink too and a gel before the start.
DNF for the bonk? You should've crawled home you lazy git! :P
I started maybe a bit quick, spent the middle two hours in a finely balanced fight between keeping club record pace, stopping my leg going numb and overusing my glutes until they ping. I had so much left in the tank I rode the last 5mi like it was a 10. Probably a good couple of minutes to take off if I can sort my leg out but I'll probably not ride another 100 this year.
My leg is still numb now which makes me think it might be nerve-related and not vascular after all. Might tell my physio this wonderful news and see what they say.
10min off my PB and club record so even with the 2L of snot I ejected in the first lap I did what I wanted to do. Pretty happy with it, considering.
