There's lots of tyres with reflective sidewalls, but in the daylight they look light grey... An alternative would be a reflective paint, I recall Volvo trialled a product called Lifepaint which was basically invisible in daylight but reflective in darkness, but it hasn't been made available for sale yet, but I imagine there must be alternative products out there.

This stuff seems to be an alternative to that Volvo stuff...

Thanks '78! I looked into life paint and its not good for hard materials as it doesn't bond very well unfortunately e.g. it will wipe off with minimal abrasion.
When you say the tyre looks light grey do you mean the whole thing, or a reflective strip around the sidewall?

I bought a role of that yesterday in fact, tried to apply it tastefully to the frame, not sure about it now in the cold light of day, its bright as at night though!
As for the rims I have caliper brakes so it'd have to be spokes if anywhere on the wheel. Wish these tyres existed outside of my head!

I've never been sure how much use reflective sidewalls are going to be at preventing an accident. You'd only light up when directly in front of someone, and by that point I'd hope they'd already seen you as you were approaching from left/right. If not, it is in the lap of gods already...

These tyres are completely invisible by day. You'll have to trust me that they are reflective in the dark, but they are.

Yeah but punctures will be a nightmare
Hi, hope this is the right place to ask about this. I have a black fuji feather with black rims and components, the whole thing is very... black.
So for the sake of visibility I'd like to get some slicks / intermediates with reflective sidewalls, but ideally get ones that don't mess with the blackness during daylight!
Thanks in advance.
