The tension will be the same regardless of the spoke gauge.
thinner spokes will stretch more at given tension making the lower tensioned NDS slightly more resistant to radial loads.
You are however sacrificing lateral stiffness, which you need to limit the tendency of your super stiff rim to over power the spokes and move lateraly between brake pads.

The wheels won't be for daily use, just for when I fancy going out and doing a few 'fast' miles in good weather. I don't think 2x on NDS is an option, as far as I'm aware the rear hub is made for straight pull/radial NDS:
Is there any logic in using thinner spokes on the NDS in terms of helping to balance tension more evenly, or, does a thinner spoke become more tensioned, if stretched over the same distance as a thicker spoke?
