• Brompton M3L (2010) in good condition with a lot of upgrades/improvements from the stock parts and also some spare and mint condition parts. Luggage block/rack and bag included. Have stripped the mudguards off for a more streamlined look.

Cockpit - stock Brompton 'M' bar, upgraded all-black Shimano BL-R550 levers (not many options to chose from which don't effect 'the fold'), SRAM grips.

Brakes - stock Brompton single-pivot front. Mint condition Brompton dual-pivot rear (rear brake only has about 10 miles use).

Chain/cranks - replaced the Brompton cranks and 54t chainring for some SRAM cranks I'd been using on another build as I liked the feel. Original stock cranks and a spare stock bottom bracket supplied if you want to revert to stock.

Seating - stock Brompton seatpost, vintage Brooks Colt black saddle with large copper rivets.

Wheels/tyres - stock Brompton rims and tyres. Both tyres almost mint condition.

Other - stock (crap!) roller wheels replaced with some nice EZ-roller wheels.

Luggage - a fairly old C-Bag and official luggage frame. Not quite as feature-packed as the modern equivelant but has a good capacity and using the Brompton luggage block means you can clip on/off painlessly. Has a shoulder strap too so really good bit of kit for commuting. The current bags use exactly the same block/frame so no problems upgrading the bag itself if you wish.

Negatives - not much to flag. The rear-triangle section of the frame is looking a bit tired in places cosmetically so a bit of touch-up paint would be a good shout. At the moment I'm still tinkering around with the barrel-adjuster on the gears after taking it apart for a degrease as it's a bit spongey between gears currently, glides really nicely once you've hit the sweet spot though!

If you're not familiar with Bromptons this might not mean much to you but I find those nylon-hooks on the end of the front hub incredibly ugly so have removed mine in place of using a simple webbing clip to finish the fold instead. In my opinion this is far more secure but if you want to revert to stock you can get the Brompton hook for £5 from Evans.

Think that's about it! Any questions, please ask! Have really enjoyed this bike but as mentioned on another thread, an impending house-move means my commute really doesn't necessitate keeping hold of this.

Going to start at £550 £540 collected from Hackney or can arrange something in central potentially (I work in Soho but have a fairly erratic schedule). ITEM NOW SOLD

    Cheers,

    David

  • Have PM'd

  • Just to update on this - Jonny Trousers has withdrawn his interest as he's looking for an 'S' bar model and presumably doesn't fancy the significantly expensive change of steering column to convert from an 'M'.

Still available to view etc. in Hackney over the weekend. In response to a coupe of questions - happy to post but can only do so using something with decent compensation so if you're a non-UK resident it's not going to be cheap unfortunately.

    Let's call it £540

    Cheers!

  • SOLD

  • aaaaarg i might pull the trigger. Im not sure though....um, let me give it a day to mull over

  • @punkture mull all you need my friend.

  • A disappointing total of 4 people have PM'd me with intent to buy and then withdrawn/vanished before even viewing so this remains for sale.

I'm (evidently) too lazy to get this on eBay so I'm giving this another week. If it's still unsold I'll keep it for the summer and do a bit of island-hopping around Greece with it before putting her up for sale again in the autumn.

    Cheers!

  • Hi I've just sent a pm........I think! Service is shocking where I'm working and phone is on a go slow.

  • Item sold - thanks to all who showed interest.
