I've only had the latex-spurting happen twice (in the last 15 or so months) and both times I had mudguards on. But without, I expect it could get a bit messy!

Presume you can run them without sealant. Is there any point doing that?
-
• #1079
Some, but not as much. You could still have lower pressures, for surfaces in the Balkans that are as bad as the A31, and not get pinch flats.
For me, the main benefit is that I now run fast tyres all the time, that I wouldn't dare use with tubes as I'd get too many punctures.
Some people put the sealant in their tubes!

I can't afford that kind of habit.

schwable pro one also have stupid low rolling resistance.
lower than 4000s and laytex.
@frank9755 what's your air loss like with one pro?
-
• #1082
I've never got my hands on one pros; they were like hen's teeth when I was trying to buy some a couple of months ago. I've used the old Ones and they are great - very little air loss. I've got a new pair of those which I'll likely use for the TCR. I had heard that the Pros lost a bit more air though.

Ah, they're very different tyres, the old and new.
The old ones are think, high RR and won't leak air.
The pro (new) ones are more supple, thinner (as good PP) (hence loose a little air) and very very low RR. -

I have 25mm one pros fitted on Hunt disc wheels. They grip a lot better than hutchison sector 28s and went on first time using a cheap zefal track pump. No soapy water required.
I have to top up the air about once a week.

I read that the old Ones were pretty good on RR and the new were only slightly better. CBA to find the reference now, but the old Ones certainly feel like fast tyres and they are made of soft, thin, grippy rubber, so I'll settle for that.
Not having to pump them up might be worth more time than the RR difference! -

Jason Marshall back in? - seems to be pedalling again, hope so.

The Schwalbe One has a better tread puncture score (12), but a lower sidewall score (4).

This tire can be run at an air pressure of 80 psi / 5.5 bar at the cost of a 1.5 watts (Crr: 0.0004) higher rolling resistance per tire.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Sorry I miss remembered.
Should check next time.
One seems better than I remembered too.Back in box.

Interesting to read that again and see how RR varies with pressure. The guy who built my first set of tubeless wheels (and installed the Ones) told me to run them at stupid low pressures, like 65/70, for 25s. Must be a mountain-biker. It looks like 100psi is optimal.

Lael stopped or just tracker not working? Last movement was 19h ago and that was only an hour after a 3h stop.

Batteries dead
Lael called briefly this morning from somewhere in Kansas. She sounded great, not even a hint of tiredness in her voice, and was excited about the final miles to the Atlantic. She already knew that her SPOT batteries had died (Matthew tends to text racers when batteries are low), and she plans to replace them in Newton.

Best to use cash, not card there - having some card fraud issues at Wendys at the mo.
If you used card, check for odd withdrawals.Keep up the good work!

I love your work.
But, no chips (cough "fries" cough)?
Ok, so I can run tubeless.
The first time I hose myself down with sealant I'm coming after you lot with a track pump... :P
Wait, that means new tyres and shit. Fuck that. I have too many to wear out first.
