Albasini fucked it, although that's easy for me to say from the comfort of me desk.

Matt H is magnanimous, can't help but be huh.
Sagan really is a class above, and he seems to really be stepping up to another level. He's come a long way from his TDF early green jerseys.

Crazy finish at the TdS today, a 90 degree right hand bend 150 metres from the line. I think Danny Van Poppel touched Sagan's rear wheel but managed to keep it upright thankfully.

I don't know if he clipped the wheel or just grabbed the front brake but that was some save.

I'm so excited for tomorrow. Day off work and everything. They've resurfaced Exchange Street and Gaol Hill on that map, but the left hander from St Andrews onto Exchange Street is still a bit gnarly, and where I'll be intentionally positioning myself!
It's 'uphill' from that corner to the finish, and they're pretty nice bends so shouldn't be any carnage, fingers crossed.

He was in the brake and attacked and solo'd to finish.

He got in the break of the day, then got away with Galloping, then dropped him on one of the cols. Easy really.

Kirsten Wild wants flat, straight finishes, hence why she's complaining.

I didn't, but now do obvs, that Phil Gamion had written a book, could be good.
Bought it an will read, he's a funny guy. -

and wtf of the day: Van Poppel got relegated for reckless riding G says

Astonishing. That finish was insane, should never have been allowed in a WT race.

Anyone got any news on what personal issues led to Cameron Meyer leaving DD?

Sounds like Brent Copeland is headed to the Bahraini Torture Team©

With fucking Nibali no less. Disappoint... Not so different from riding for an unhinged oligarch I guess.

Edit: And apparently Nico Roche too..
Lovely quote from Prince Nasser during Arab Spring
'“Whoever calls for the fall of the regime, may a wall fall on his head … whether he is an athlete, socialite or politician, whatever he is, he will be held accountable at this time. Today is the judgment day.”
I get that there are lots of unpleasant / corrupt people in cycling, but the attempts by lots of cycling press to try and make equivilance with dopers/ tinkofs of this world with the seriously dark and nasty stuff done by the Bahraini govt. is wilfully ignorant.
This feels like a much worse scandal for the UCI in terms of real moral failure than any of the BS around doping/ recent warning of motor- bike companies
He finally understood that it makes no sense contesting sprints, just easier to drop everyone. Incredible.
