Time to focus on the shorter distances?

Entry fees for a 5K are typically under $50 (I’ve done three this year that cost $25 or less), whereas the Boston Marathon costs $180 to enter.
Yanks are getting seriously fucking stung.
I like the idea of focusing on short runs - I would like still to knock out a 20 minute 5k (having said the same thing last year, but stopped training much a all) before age and decrepitude takes its toll.
Despite focusing on the opposite right now, I agree. 5mile & 10km deserve mention too.
