I believe there are fillers that are formulated to accept powder coating; should be no problem anyway though if it's a really small and thin coat.
Oh really? Cool. I'll look into that, I thought it might need filling with brass or something.
Apparently the paint can still be attracted to the metal that's beneath the filler and will form a monolithic bond when it's cooked up. So my internet research indicates.
