Campagnolo and old shit can >>>>> so that leaves me Dura Ace 9000 and Nitto finishing kit.
Not sure on wheel choice though. Might just use the C24's I have spare.

Does anyone know if the Nitto Pearl is the same colour as the Neat Mod.185 Bars?
-
• #5
While you're at it putting Dura Ace on this you might want to have the bb threaded to bsa instead of Italian
-
• #6
Hardly worth it when a DA Ita BB is £20.
-
• #7
I didn't know they made those. You'd expect the Italians and especially Shimano to have moved on from that obsolete bb standard

bemoans old shit
buys groupset with cableslol
-

etap would naff on this .. and many other current bikes.
DA9000 will be the best choice to match those chrome bits too! 7400 Seatpost obviously.
Shallow silver box rims on DA hubs maybe?
-
• #10
if you're gunna use something as laughably dated as gear cables you might as well stick with wooden rims and a bottle of chianti in your cages...
-
• #11
real talk (don't tell Amey) but DA9k with box sections rims and (IMHO) a classic crank would be extremely boss.
-
• #12
Groupsets should always be complete. There is *no situation when an aftermarket crank can not look dog-wank.
*even Cannondale.

Following this one...
Bought a (1996) Supercorsa but still don't know what to do with it: go period correct or shift to something modern.

1996 isn't really vintage, I'd go modern. Athena 11 orso. Otherwise the only nice option is to go Record 8 spd.
-
• #17
I do have a Record 8 speed I might put on it (as at the moment I don't have the money to buy new groupsets :-)).
@Señor_Bear : nice parts.

At least @Señor_Bear will do this build justice.

I'm definitely going white saddle and bar tape.
But what colour cables should I use? Options are white or black.
I'm tempted by white but will it all look too much? -
• #20
100% black
-
• #21
Rationale..?
-
• #22
no need
white will be too much with saddle and tape ..
this thing is quite good for white tape: http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/esi-grips-rct-silicon-road-bar-wrap---bar-tape-4300-p.asp No glue and you can put it in a washing machine and keep reusing, doesn't get that dirty either. Look normal.
Someone needs to fire photoshop and put white saddle and tape on this one:

White.

The shimano 'default' grey wont look bad either

Also, add some seatpost, drop the stem and put a big dog chainring on it.
Just bought...
