  • Is that not frowned upon? I thought there was something in the TCR manual about 'paired riding' being bad for your rectum or something.

  • SPOT resolution isn't that accurate, they might not actually be riding together. I assume there's a "no drafting" rule unless you're riding as a pair. From what it sounds like they're just riding near each other...

I asked how she liked riding with Evan, since she’s never much liked
riding with anyone. She said it helped that the two of them were
riding a similar pace, and when riding within range of each other they
are loosely racing each other, more like a constant reminder to keep
the pace moving. It reminds me of the tactics employed by riders in
the professional peloton to chase down the leaders, except this race
is over 4200 miles on one stage.

  • Yeah, no drafting. You ride side my side.

I don't really have an opinion on it. But if you did it in TCR, you'd get called out, and maybe checked up on that you weren't cheating.
Personally, being near someone leaves you open to wild claims. So say hello, then fuck off.

I did talk with mike before about TCR, trackers and riding close. And people will notice.
I had someone try to draft me. I told there where I thought they should go, in very clear terms, becasue they didn't understand me asking nicely that they not ride on my rear wheel.

I still remember, in the 2nd or 3rd hour from the start. I was just cruising along, happy as, and a fucking paceline (no joke) comes past me, 5 guys all drafting each other. I told mike about this after the race, because the rules had been ambiguous and misconstrued purposely by some people, to draft and gain advantage.
