  • My friend Morgan has quit, last i heard he was getting shitfaced on bloody marys in Ennis, MT and then gonna hitch to Bozeman and work his way home.

He had on average about 5 flats a day, broke a wheel, then got a new wheel and the mechanic moved the cassette over and forgot the 10 speed spacer, and he didn't notice until shifting was all weird a long way down the road. Basically, he got all the shit luck :(

He's rightly decided that road bikes suck.

  • What tyres was he running? How did the wheel break? If you forget the spacer don't you just use the barrel adjuster to compensate?

  • No idea, but he kept getting pinch flats. He bent his wheel when the bike fell over, loaded! He got a new wheel, then the rim tape was awful and kept slipping then getting more pinch flats. Not sure how he got it so wrong tbh. I'd run tubeless on that ride anyway.

I think it was a cassette spacer, therefore the cassette was sliding about on the freehub body. So shifting was all over the place.
