  • Deliveroo riders was thinking of starting a new post on the topic, they are unbelievable how does that company get away with it?

  • I should have had a front light on this morning in the rain (had one on the rear) My Bad! As they say...

called someone out this morning at Kennington Park Rd/Kennington Lane/Newington Butts junction. 4/5 cyclists including me waiting at the lights, guy on a hybrid decides he knows better and wobbles though. there was a big lorry half blocking the junction so you wouldnt have been able to see any traffic turning across you until too late. I did a slow hand clap accompanied by "well done, dickhead" which resulted in him turning around 3 times trying to work out if he was the subject. yes, yes you are.

i do wonder at the mentality of it. firstly you're travelling really slow and obviously not in THAT much of a hurry, so why bother jumping the junction? but more than that - if there's a growing amount of other cyclists who are already waiting at the lights, why do they not apply to you?

Sounds like you bottled it by not ramming the point home.

  • I was riding behind one of them, he was wobbling on one of those elctric bikes, he was wobbling so much that it was so hard to over take him... they are soooooo slow and wobbly...

  • Dad and kid cycling against traffic.

Ok. It was Sunday. Still... idiots.
The kerb was wide enough to use for cycle training as his son was young enough to legally go on it.

  • his son was young enough to legally go on it

    Different laws in NI?

Oh it seems not, as in, officially no kerb cycling, evah. If it's just under the age of 10 they can't do anything, under 16 they can't fine you.

My bad. Not that the PSNI bothers at all... road policing here is woeful :/

  • If it's just under the age of 10 they can't do anything, under 16 they can't fine you.

Sure they can do something. That's not what the age of criminal responsibility means. Under the age of 10 they can't be arrested or charged but they can be stopped from doing whatever they're doing if the Police think it's unsafe.

Consider a 9 year old waving a gun around, do the Police just say "Oh, you're only 9 years old, nothing we can do here, carry on but try not to shoot anyone ok..."?

Like the link says, I hope they use their discretion, but if a child cycling on the pavement is a danger then there's loads they can do; they can ask them to stop, possibly even confiscate the bike if they refuse to do so, etc.

  • OK fair enough - syntax fail on my part.

I don't see anyone getting stopped, also not adult cyclists going rather fast on the kerb and expecting peds to jump out of the way. I think it really depends on if the police agent can be bothered.

I got stopped once by taking a right turn that was buses only [mybad], the next day I see cars going through red in front of a police van... :)

Pls stop trampling on the child's rights to open carry kthx

  • From now on, this is how I ride;

  • So late to the party, we have been riding like that for years.

  • Are you a 'fixie goon' DJ?

  • What do you think the fg stands for?

  • Can LFGSS put together a Pro-Mars bar video like this?

"I ain't got no time for these Snickers"

  • there were a lot of rude words in that film, as well as a lot of young men behaving in an entirely unsafe manner on pushbikes. it should be banned.

  • It's just a cry for help, listen how tortured he sounds in this one.

  • Campbell Gildersleeve 2 weeks ago Brakeless or not, anything any everything, pure fix, state, Bianchi.. All of em, WEAR A HELMET

  • I rly wish I could do fixietricks but I'm in my 30s and it's a bit late to start practicing, I'll look a dick falling off all the time. :( FML.

  • The backward riding in a straight line was dope.

  • Closer to home, repost from years ago:

  • Filmed entirely in Hackney, I think, so very little chance of any of DJ's fixie-gooning getting into the shot.

  • Anyone of you rascals up to draw a map-circuit in central London where to run a test on peak hours?

  • There's probably a diliveroony alley-cat being planned as you read this. Green and black spoke cards
