what crankset is he using?
That would be cheaper than buying a new crankset plus cheaper sram bb86 bb

Sram Force. He says the bearings need to be to a really high tolerance as they are so small. Which is why they are so expensive. They have Rotor PF41 Steel Bottom Bracket which is only £30
But, with the ULTIMATE CF SLX 9.0 SL (that you posted a pic of last week) it is built with SRAM PF GXP 86,5/91,5 Road bottom bracket.
I hope this helps as I am now getting confused myself....
