    Does a CAAD 10 2011 model need the proprietary headset and SI compression system to work ideally or can I just use a standard Lifeline Carbon bung and go about my day?

    Also, does it need a bearing cover on top for the tightening to be done correctly or can I just tighten the stem down and still have it work without any damages to me or bike?

    Buying a Slam cover from mdcc but that'll take a few days to arrive.

    I don't think anyone knows for sure, but the consequences of finding out that a different type of bung is inadequate strike me as severe enough to warrant coughing up for the proper part as an insurance policy.
