It work great, think of it like brakes levers pull, long and short pull (canti and V).
The only issues is that upshifting is a mite stiffer than with Campagnolo derailleur, like how a canti feel harder to pull with v brakes levers.
She rode it through London and although did says it felt stiffer than the much lighter shifting of 6800, she have no problem with it.
I'm gonna get more Veloce shifter as they're bloody cheap on trade (£45), and got lots of old cheap Shimano component lying around to build up a bike.
@kati got bored with super functional downtube shifters after using Ultegra 6800 on the carbon plastic fantastic bike, spend ages trying to find out the best way to get decent shifting/braking performance with great reliability and durability.
Turn out 10 speed Campagnolo Veloce and 8 speed Shimano drivetrain work brilliantly (technically Tiagra is 10 speed, but same cable pull as the rest of the Shimano).
Campagnolo Veloce is also cheaper than Shimano Claris, another bonus.
