Haha, so THAT's why I need to put 30mm tyres on mine! Incidentally, what tyres are you using?
Hope your elbow heals soon.

Haha, guessed photoshop but really hoped you had a magic trick up your sleeve

Cheers, they are Mavic Yksion Elite 30mm which I run tubeless on stans alpha 340 rims.. rides really well and is very fast and comfy..

Not much of an update, been riding away on this most of the year.. even did my 1st 100 miler on it at the end of the summer. A couple of small changes to the CDF.. not sure why but the front mech stopped shifting, so an excuse to take it off and get a 42t narrowwide on there.. also paired with a 11-32 tiagra cassette, giving similar gearing to the 39-28 I had on.. Also took the 30mm tyres off and stuck on a set of 25mm hutchinson intensive tubeless (my brother had them in the garage).. Took it out yesterday and all seems good.. I think the free wheel is dragging a bit as the chain is going loose when I back pedal.. not sure if the tyres look too small though with larger frame clearances.. Must be in around the 10kg mark now!! although can't find my scales..

Just built this up, basically I love the way my 56cm day one rides, so decided to build up a geared version.. I came across the day-one Alfine di2 frame and made it into a 1x10.. Been a while since I posted.. been through a few more bikes.. sold the CDF and bought a Kaffenback disc, then sold that and bought a Holdsworth Elan disc in Reynolds 853 (prototype frame as they never made it for sale) with carbon fork and Sram 1x11 hydro.. it's great and I'm very happy with it, but just wanted something for winter.. so bought the same frame from Planet X in CroMo for winter as it takes guards etc.. Planet X have the frames on offer for £144 so got one on Thursday and built it up with stuff off the 853 for winter duties. 853 tucked away until spring.. just to note the frame weight is slightly lighter than my 725 croix de fer in medium..

Looks good for the money. They say 28mm max tyre, do you think that’s a conservative estimate? Also 650b candidate?
-
• #112
Not sure, will be putting 28's on it so will see what gaps left..

I've gone way off the genesis track now.. Still have my day-one singlespeed, but been chopping and changing frames and bikes.. then this happened for my 40th at the weekend..
Bianchi Columbus TSX frame, campag record 22 speed, zero wheels, deda finishing kit.. did 40 miles on Sunday morning and it was great..

Update again.. been mixing the bike up a bit.. really wanted a do it all bike.. the grey Holdsworth was great, but just too tight for clearance with the 650b's on.. so latest built is as below:

Fork: 2015 genesis Carbon fork
Headset: FSA Orbit Equipe Sealed Cartridge
Seat clamp: Alloy Hope
Brakes: Sram Force Hydraulic
Disk rotors: Sram 160mm
Shifters: Sram Rival
R/Mech: Sram Rival
Cassette: Sram 11-36
Cranks: Sram Force carbon
Chainring: Sram arrowwide 42T
Chain: Sram 11 speed
Bars: Selcof
Stem: Btwin 80mm Alloy
Pedals: Shimano ultegra
Grips: black perforated bar tape
Seatpost: Promax Alloy inline
Seat: Charge spoon
Wheels: Halo Devaura 6D disc - 31mm deep
Tyres: Panaracer Gravelking - 32mm running tubeless
Extras: Halo hex skewers, Garmin out in front mount, alloy bottle cageCurrently weighing in a 9.9kg. If this turns out to be my do it all bike, then I think I will get the frame blasted and powder coated in a flat grey colour..

Why get it blasted? Yellow is so cheerful and this bike looks really nice! :)

Am curious, what 650b tyres did fit in the Holdsworth? Can't argue with that price, thinking it might make a decent tourer thing for GF
-
• #117
I had 42mm WTB resolute's fitted.. they rubbed the upper rear stays with anything other than 30psi.. looked the dogs though!!

Does look good, but maybe a bit loud.. maybe a nice flat grey in the future

equilibrium looks tidy! I have the same but mostly stock. shame it doesn't fit 32's with guards otherwise it would tick all the boxes.
personally I love the yellow -one of the key reasons I bought that bike in the first place.
planning to upgrade the stock aksiums on mine for something a bit lighter in the near future... -

Couple of small updates.. Nothing major.. I managed to fit a set of full guards (LifeLine Narrow Road Mudguard Set) onto the Equilibrium with the 32mm tyres.. tight fit, but looks great. Also got a set of CH carbon 50mm wheels for the Bianchi and swapped out the fork for carbon..
Have had a brief ride on the Genesis but haven't managed to get out on the Bianchi because of health issues over the past few months..

Both look great. Looks wise a weenie carbon saddle might finish off the Bianchi nicely but i'm guessing the Spoon is your preference.

• #122
I have a light saddle on carbon rails etc, but run charges on all my bikes for continuity

More Genesis updates. I have ridden a total of 108 miles in the last year due to finding a rather larger hole in my heart, so in the meantime while not riding I have been tinkering to keep myself busy.. Hole now closed and on the mend. I have been buying and selling the odd bike and keep the odd one too to satisfy my N+1 requirements.. So couple of old pugs, a 531 dawes, Raleigh with full Golden Arrow and a Bianchi San Remo which I did a CX conversion on.. although it's now sold.. Just bought another 725 Croix De Fer to make a do it all bike.. Plan to run it with two set of wheels.. one set 700c and 28mm tyres and another with 650B and 42mm WTB's.. another update when it arrives.. :-)
