The drops aren't unusable though, they're level. It's not like they're turned down so far they're pointing up. They're no more turned down that on the E5 Sworks or the purple Tarmac Disc.
It all adds up if you wanted a bit of extra wrist clearance in the drops. The/my enve drops come back further than the hoods and they're not too far down or the 'aero' section wouldn't be flat. Look at Bobridge's Madone bars, they're not the standard bar and they're in the same position as the ones on that BMC.
