I have a 1/8 50t (dura-ace) chainring, a 1/8 (izumi) chain and a 16t WI freewheel. It works fine. I would prefer a 1/8 version of the freewheel, but they don't make one.

yeah, that's pretty much identical to what i have gathered during my research. WI official info & recommendations vs. comments from people stating there is no problem whatsoever...
description on velomine also claims that "use of an 1/8" chain will cause the chain plates to rub on the freewheel body". @cip1000, can you confirm or object that? -

"16t: blue locking ring, accommodates 3/32 chain only, Bearing size 6708" Says the WI. site. I ignored that.

just received an answer from the WI customer support: "The 1/8” chain is too wide for the 16t freewheel. You will notice because the size is so small we have to use a smaller bearing and we machine grooves in along side the teeth so the chain can sit down properly. Unfortunately there isn’t enough room for the 1/8” chain to seat properly."

I've been using my 16t WI freewheel on 1/8 chains for years. I thought it it was generally fine to use 3/32 equipment with 1/8 chains. Maybe not as flush (and may wear the cogs a bit quicker) but ok in principle I thought. Anyway mine's been going for years without any issue. Plus that's the benefit of WI is that you can replace the different parts without buying a whole new freewheel.

I had some probs as you wanting to use 1/8th S/S
I've used this for several yrs without issue.https://www.evanscycles.com/token-1-2-x-1-8-chromo-single-speed-freewheel-EV222320
only prob is getting it off...found that a Rohloff cog remover fits perfect.

I have one of those too. They supposedly do a 3/32 version and a 1/8 version, but I've only ever seen the 1/8 version. No complaints from me, though they don't do spares, making it kind of disposable.
It is slightly cheaper here...

question concerning the token fw: do you know anything about the specs apart from size & weight? number of pawls and points of engagement would be interesting.

can't find it listed as a current product on their site....maybe it's no longer manufactured?...which would explain why many places seem out of stock on certain sizes.
http://www.tokenproducts.com/sorry no other tech info....except that it feels like it has more engagement points than the eno....
but for me the 1/8th was the most important thing. long term surely matched components are better....i'd just spent £180 on campag pista and £55 on izumi ST chain....so eno wasn't a consideration for me. The token was the only 1/8th I found .....apart from a god awful dicta....it wasn't even round!!....and i had to literally cut it off. -

Bought a WI 16T freewheel back in 2010, paired it with a VeloSolo 3/32" 48T chainring and chain.
Just serviced the freewheel and it looks like new, wonderful things inside and out. -

I'm using a 16t wi freewheel with a 1/8 chain. 1 year on with no issues.
hi folks,
i'm about to pull the trigger on a 16t WI eno freewheel. just wondering if it will fit with a 1/8 chain and 1/8 chainring without problems?
found varying comments on that issue on the i-net. since this is my first build and i have no first hand experience, do you know if the mixed setup will work just fine? would be thankful for your advice.
cheers
