Trying to get a front rack to fit my Soma wolverine. Went for the Basil Portland and it looks great and seems pretty light. Having an issue with the mounts at the hub end though.
The lawyer tabs and the round section of the tube of the fork which goes right down to the dropout are interfering with the rack arm, meaning there's not enough flat surface to work with. It's kind of visible in the photo (couldn't be arsed to take the pitlock off but you get the idea). The arms have huge holes for the axle so I can't use the eyelets just above.
Any suggestions on ways to get round this issue? Trying to find some shorter arms to use with the eyelets halfway up the forks but not having much luck. Would be great to solve the issue as returning the rack to germany ain't gonna be cheap
The pelago comes with thick metal spacers to space out the arms, about 1cm thick. You could use something like that to clear the tabs but may need a longer skewer.
