On the foreign pronunciation thing, it irks me mildly that we use English names for towns and countries in Europe (Germany, Spain, Vienna etc) but are expected to keep up with every name change that happens further afield (Burma, Bombay, Rhodesia). England invented the world so should have the right to name it how we like.
