I've got a hanging fingerboard, seems like a great idea except that the weight pulls you forward so the angles get much steeper (I.e. really difficult to hang on the small ones). You might be fine with that but it is much less useful than a properly hung one!
I used 18mm ply, got a piece cut at the wood yard in Peckham - only cost £5 or so
