One of the track ends are a tiny bit higher than the other causing the wheel to sit slightly off centre at the seat stays.
I want to remove a bit material from the track end to allow the axle to sit a bit lower. Doing it on both sides could give me a welcome mm of extra tyre clearance.
My question is what should I add over the axle to secure it down?
See exaggerated illustration attached. Contrary to the drawing my axle already sit at the edge of the track end so I want all the support I can give it. I can't see myself welding or brazing anything in there though.
Any suggestions welcome.
Just file it, will be fine, I've done it before. You're not exerting much force on the ends. Imagine trying to bend out with the grip provided by a file!? Not like you're levering it with a a pair of grips
