Strong man.. Looks like I rode parts of the same route as you today, allthough going the opposite way.. Might have passed you. I was in a white jersey riding TT style.

Had a mad one yesterday.
Drove out to Valldal to ride to trollstigen. Weather was amazing. Only 8C at the top. But felt much warmer on the actual climb.
Did my first climb. Bit of a mess with yraffic issues and losing stuff from my back pocket. But power wss up regardless.
Pushed a bit more on the second and set a new PB.
Stopped to fill water at the cafe at the top and bumped into Mike Cotty filming for the Col Collective. I spend my winter suffering on a turbo watching this guy. So was a bit shocked to see in my summer training playground. Really nice bunch.
Popped down for my last rep. Rode all the way to the highest point and started the fast descent to the car.
First corner. Hit some gravel. Lost my line. And when i grabbed the rear brake it locked up. It had done this the night before. So i fucking knew it needed looking at. Just had enough time to think 'this is going to suck'
Had to force the bike around. Hit the deck and slid for a bit before hitting the barrier. Gotta be better than going over it.
Got up. Checked bike. And rode on. Stopped down the road after id calmed down and realised i was scratched up but fine.
Eventful day.

Accidentally eneded up doing Dragon Ride 230km event today having got a free entry. They make you work for your miles in Wales .Heavy roads, winds, never flat. Tough day.

I saw contador using the very same method having nailed the prologue at the dauphine today. Splashing his feet in the water, can of (lukewarm) fosters in hand.

Had a super miserable microtour to Paris.
Character building. It wasn't even that far. -

Bar the choice of beer, I like his style.

Yeah. Plus Garmin failures, all the fun off road sections I'd planned in France being Mud-fests requiring re-routing, and the tyres being totally fucking useless and it all added up.
I was having quite a bit of fun up till mile 51 on the French side.
(actually the 10 miles or so before we hit the urban sprawl (and were forced to avoid the riverside bike paths) were pretty lovely.
But for comparison's sake- Ho, Architect and Death Drive absolutely smashed out a ride that was only about 10 miles shorter in total (after accounting for garmin's lack of recording effort)- in one day. -

'Fun B'
Hope you both managed to retain your sense of humor - given that ^ I probably would have lost mine
At least your Di2 battery didn't go flat ;)

Both had incredibly low periods.
Ended with getting off the Eurostar to another tyre related failure- which was hard to endure.
The spare day in Paris sorted most of the low periods out- hard to go wrong with steak tartare and all the speculoos spread in the world. -

@Smallfurry Massive thighs! Monster ride. Did you come out unscathed?
-
• #9642
My thighs have halved in size over the last 12 months! Loosing my rugby mass.
To me I look horribly thin.Cant complain.
Bike has a tiny scratch on the rear mech.
Everything I was wearing is fecked on the right hand side.
I have a lot of road rash and a sprained wrist.I took the photo With the barrier in it on the way there. Thats basically where I stacked it on my way back. Didnt really want to og over it.

Tour of Cambridgeshire Chrono time trial on Saturday (42m22s) and the Gran Fondo on Sunday (3hrs43m). Very achy glutes after what felt like an entire weekend spent with my nose pressed to the stem of a bike.

Your jersey tried to kill itself...

Sunday, I rode out to Bike Whisperer HQ and worked on bikes. Bikes are a pain in the arse.

Left early and did the slide to the sea LDN - Brighton before it got too warm, arrived at the beach at 11ish.
Great ride. Lot's a people out and about.
Only problem with that route is that you end up in Brighton. -
• #9647
Tour of Cambridgeshire yesterday in 3hrs27mins. Happy with that especially I stayed at the front of the group I was in for the entire distance. Legs a bit fooked though today.

LDN to Brighton is on my 'want-to-do' list this year. Never done it before. I need to factor in Dirtfud to LDN too when I do go for it. Dirtfud to Brighton doesn't sound as good does it?

Are you kidding me?! That's much better than London to Brighton! It cuts out the whole shitty part of London to Brighton!

This is a route I did few weeks back, quite proud of it, not necessarily fast, but avoid most big roads.
You should be able to catch it somewhere
Had a lovely ride up around the Chiltern Hills today. Didn't eat or drink enough today in the heat so the last hour or so was real painful. Amazing landscape up there though, very picturesque! I'm crap at stopping to take pictures so heres one that doesn't do the ride any justice.
