  • i saw that, I just skipped and went onto the main traffic light via the peds crossing and waited instead.

Did this. Success - made it across quicker than waiting at the lights over St.George's Road. Good tip.

  • The scheme came out of the dangerous junctions review, and hence was limited to just the junction, which is fairly stupid. Another 100m and they could have run a bus stop bypass and had it all flowing smoothly.

  • Even when it's free for me (Freedom Pass), I still wouldn't take it, cause it's that bad.

  • I hated that, it's my main reason why I didn't join the cycle path, all it take is for one bus driver to lapse and hit the incoming cyclists who have priority.

  • @Backstop @edscoble And the silliness has now been replicated at Stockwell and E&C (towards Borough).

  • Might have to get one of those travel-size bottles and decant some lube. Be worth carrying some around. Ta!

  • Yeah, unfortunately TFL are very wrapped up in 'route' provision, this leads to dodgy exits on non preferred (by tfl) routes and some very unintuitive routing through also.

  • Bus' number one in their eyes, cycling is lower down somewhere.

  • generally underneath them.

  • Left my sunglasses at work last night. Cried the whole way home and the whole way back to work. Never again!

  • oof, yesterday was horrible. I feel like a whole plant was rammed into my eyes and nostrils by the mighty headwind

  • Late commute into London. Almost thrown by the embankment superhighway speed bumps twice. Amateur/10

  • Yesterday's commute

Saw all the big five in one drive

  • Forum on your honeymoon? >>>>>>>>

  • Your stand on pro-Brexit is a little too far.

  • It's absolutely mad that the majority of the workforce are prepared to pay for this on a daily basis. And then a lot of them think you're nuts for cycling in london!

  • Weather was beautiful so hopped on the bike basically as soon as I got up.

    Now at work at 07:40.

Should've extended my route a bit, but I'm knackered from a very sporty weekend.

    Finishing early today/10

  • Saw the worst of road users today.

Saw a motorbike rider decide to force his way through the ASL while lights on red and then physically attempt to push cyclists waiting to turn right out of his way while shouting "get out of my way, cunts" when lights changed to green. He then sped away so quickly that he narrowly avoided riding straight into the back of a bus.

Shortly afterwards I had a cyclist crash into the back of me when I slowed down to wait for the bus that was already moving to pull out ahead of me. No big deal really. When the cyclist went down his bars glanced the bumper of a stationary car to his right, leaving a small black bar tape mark. Cue the driver getting out of his car and yelling abuse at him with all the usual "you're all the same...road tax...etc etc...what about my fucking car". Told him that his car was fine, it'd buff out and the best thing he could do is get back in his car and tell his (prob 6 year old) daughter who was looking on with a frightened face that somebody had an accident but its ok because nobody was hurt before going about his day. He did not like that at all.

    Still beats train/10

  • This morning 8 am, Markhouse Road. I was on foot, observed a cyclist proceeding south along the road with a police van behind. As the police van overtakes, driver shouts something at cyclist along the lines of "use the bike lane, it's what it's there for!" Cyclist politely asks police to pull over so they can discuss this point, which they do.

The "cycle lane" on Markhouse Rd is a joke; alternates between a 2 ft wide strip of red paint on the pavement and a 2 ft wide demarcation (white lines) on the road, both of which are just ignored by most other road users.

Police should know better than to dish out this "advice" / harassment?

Well done to cyclist for calling him out on it.

  • Do I email Dulwich Paragon club sec if one of their riders (presumably) is jumping lights all over OKR this morning?

Not as bad as I expected given the weather overall.

  • One of my first memories in life is my dad getting out of the car and having a road rage induced semi fisticuffs thing. Not good. Must've been 6ish at the time too. Serves as a massive reminder to calm my bad temper (which I partly inherited, unfortunately) when my daughter is around.

  • DP member riding like a twat, shocker.
But yeah, why not - we take this shit seriously at ICC. FlyBy for accuracy/ name and shame?

  • Note to self - When you have a redfaced ragefilled driver screaming spittle flecked fury at you because you took the lane for 30seconds and prevented him squeezing past where there is no space.... don't respond with

"Is everything OK? You seem to be screaming incoherently."
