"I have wrestled with an alligator. I done tussled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning, thrown thunder in jail. That's bad! Only last week I murdered a rock, injured a stone, hospitalised a brick! I'm so mean I make medicine sick!"
Farewell Muammad Ali.
He learned how to box to get revenge on the kid who stole his bicycle and six weeks later won his first fight. I don't know if he ever got his red Schwinn back.

Here's a picture my mate took of his mum and dad with Ali... This is the very late 80s... His dad was making a film about him (never released for various legal reasons) and followed him all around the world for a year, Jake was about 18 at the time and his dad took him along as the stills photographer... He met every Muslim despot going...
I had Ali's autograph for many years, signed 'To John'... Lost now unfortunately...

Cus was probably the closest thing to a father figure Tyson ever had. That and the fact he was a truly gifted trainer.

"Cassius Clay is a slave name. I didn’t choose it and I don’t want it. I am Muhammad Ali, a free name – it means beloved of God, and I insist people use it when people speak to me.”
