The scheme came out of the dangerous junctions review, and hence was limited to just the junction, which is fairly stupid. Another 100m and they could have run a bus stop bypass and had it all flowing smoothly.

I hated that, it's my main reason why I didn't join the cycle path, all it take is for one bus driver to lapse and hit the incoming cyclists who have priority.

Got caught in the bus trap at the end of the Oval segregated lane heading up Kennington Park Road this morning. That is a genuinely stupid bit of infrastructure that spoils what is, on the whole, a collection of fairly good bits.
On the other hand, got into a race with a roadie after that, which was fun and took my mind off things.
