For me the PlugIII was a no go because of the installation needed for fitting in into the fork tube, and also the 4S disc doesn't have a hole in the bottom of that tube (hacks will be needed), also read some problems reports.
D1 doesn't have a comparison chart against PlugIII but claims to be more effective than the other options, plus its small enough to be stored anywhere in the bike with waterproofness in mind. But still would be great if you get to compare both in terms of effectiveness.
For me, being able to attach/unattach all the light&dinamo&usb system for a "normal ride" its a plus.

I have the factory fork so presume it's no good for me either, although it could just be bundled up and used outside the fork. Bodge-a-rama = drill fork.
I was going to send the PIII to the guy that makes the D1 so he could test it. Actually that reminds me, I was going to claim a cashback off him too, but I've not used it yet. What's his username again? I wonder if he's still offering it since I bought it when he offered the discount ?

I've not actually thought about that (quelle surprise). If I use it as a normal commuter I'll only have one set of wheels so I'll have to leave all that shit on for riding to work on. Fine when I have secure parking but if I move again I won't be leaving £3-4k worth of bike in the street.
Having not seen my bike yet, I don't know if the fork will work with the PlugIII but I have one and a D1 too. So, one of them will work. Maybe I'll fit both and compare them (then I also have redundancy).
