I used to do that commute.
Kimpton Road/Benhill Road > Portland Street > Rodney Place > Falmouth Road > Trinity Square > Great Suffolk Street > Tate
Depending on what part of Camberwell, you miss out Walworth Road and Elephant entirely. It's a bit longer, but quieter and fast enough.
