  • I've got a '96 blade with 17k on the clock - definitely possible. And ZR7's aren't exactly desireable...

  • It'll just drive you crazy, @BQ - sell it to me cheap and move on.

  • Just seen one of these up close, and I must say I was pretty impressed with it. Maybe it would fall to bits in a month, but they are so cheap you could practically chuck it away and get a new one!

  • I had a genuine 6K 12yr old BMW. Hard to believe but checked out and rode like new.

  • To me a street fighter style happens when you crash the bike and need to ditch the fairings and add an aftermarket headlight, then you start adding go faster bits until you reach a level of customisation that suits your riding style/environment. I've never understood why people sought to emulate it without the riding experience that goes with it.

  • i like that idea of a motorcycle growing

For those that can't be here.

  • thanks for the link. the speed

  • I had a big falling out with Chasbikes - they broke the caliper mount on one of my bikes. Though they did begrudgingly replace it, the next time I went in there, I'm pretty sure someone punched a notch in one of the fork stanchions. Came out and fifteen minutes later, the seal was pissing oil - the stanchion was deeply notched (like with a center punch notched) above the seal with the bike resting on the side stand. Looked at the mark under a glass with a bunch of folk and every one of then reckoned it had been made deliberately.

I was due to go on holiday the next day and had to catch a train to Hull and back for a new fork leg and rebuild them myself overnight to get away in time.

I'd used them for years before that and always got on well. Very strange.

  • Yes, that's right.

Maybe because they belong to a school which teaches coolness if you look like bandit bad ass.

  • True that. I'm mid way through doing a 'Combatentte Povera' job on My GSXR. Admittedly someone else had already crashed it this time which is a novelty for me.

All the re-wiring and making brackets for things has turned it into a bit of a Pandora's box, but the amount of weight I've lost is pretty amazing - especially as my COG is shifted back by the renthals and most of it was over the front wheel. The stock headlight unit alone must weigh a couple of kilos.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how it rides - I've not had a bike with mandlebars for almost 20yrs!

  • Chas bikes did an MOT for me and failed the bike for bent handle bars, even though they didn't touch the tank as MOT guy claimed it was an issue. It isn't. Replaced the bar and he was happy. Failed another bike as it had no pillion pegs but a pillion seat. Removed pillion seat and covered hole with gaffa tape. Begruding pass and I haven't been back.

The place where they are now, there used to be another bike shop there that were friendly and helpful.

  • Is anyone up for organising a LFGSS kart event?

  • Thanks for recommendations. Have booked the bike into Corsa Italiana in the end. Because I've been ill, the bike has spent the majority of the last three years sitting under a tarp, and I have no idea what might have corroded or perished. It actually started first time today, having had the battery on trickle charge for a week, but I decided that I want a main dealer service for this one. Because they only do Guzzis, Corsa might pick up some really obscure failure that a mechanic used to japanese stuff might not notice.

  • It is a guzzi, not that much goes wrong with bikes. All the electrics are japanese anyway.

Also guzzi have an attitude, it will surprise you as to what can go wrong. My le mans used to die every so often and not want to start for 30 minutes. I called her sofia loren as when she had half an hour she was ready to go again.

  • Yeah along with am evening at bodeans after

  • Mine seems to blow fuses all the time, just for fun!

  • It is called character. My le mans every so often, decide it no longer wanted to start. I like to think of it as ghosts in the machine.

  • That is a real beauty, I would just add a little mudguard on the front and a second disk.

  • See so many americans on youtube with no gear at all.
What is it about them. Brits seem to at least wear a jacket and gloves at minimum.

    I like their term, squid.

  • Here something very similar.

But £7000, plus I already see a few things that I would like different.. then nah...
