Beautiful, sorely tempted but think I'm too small. How tall are you spotter?
-
• #6
Currently set up for me at 6'4" / 192cm
-
• #7
So tempted but really can't warrant yet another track frame right now, plus I'm trying to hold off buying one of your other old bikes, csb.

Oh rly? Which one?

Jose

• #10
If I can sell Jose I actually reckon I'll buy this. Keeping fingers crossed

If it's still there Friday then I'll come have a look see

Best of luck, it's a delight to ride, so hopefully some one will rehome it.

:(
Something in the pipeline to replace it or are you going fixie-free?
-
• #14
Fixie free, until I find the right project to replace this. My main motivation for selling is that I wanted to be able to ride brklss, have something I could lock up AND use normal shoes. Never happy with flats and straps, then I saw the macho man come up cheap, I had most of the bits already...
I miss riding fixed, but I won't get another till the right frame comes up, I almost want my old steel leader back.

It's a silver powder coat with a sparkle clear coat over the top. Armoutex did a great job.

I suppose, if you want to pick up the postage and insurance? I'd rather sell locally, but if that doesn't work out I'll let you know.

Dibs sparkle if you split
-
• #19
Alright. I'll give it a few days. Shipping cost would be covered obviously. Parcel force has worked great for me before.

Although TM has first dibs on the sparkles

I've seen this bike in the flesh and it is peachy. You won't be disappointz.

Prettysure this is a DBS (danish bike company) built on commission by zeus. Someone sold a simmilar frame on the swedish forum a while back : http://www.fixedgear.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18196&hilit=DBS

that fork contrast does work so well
really nice bike glws -

That's a great tip, I'm sure I looked into DBS at the time, but as a Swedish brand, which i was told was wrong. Fantastic is it is a zeus I always thought it was very reminiscent of them.

After many years of happy service with me it's time to pass this along. I wont go into its full history here, but here's the thread detailing it's life with me. Hopefully the new owner will enjoy it as much as me. I had the forks custom made to match the same geo as the old ones after some cunt reversed a car into them. I had the frame checked at the time, but it was undamaged.
To get it ready for sale, I've given it a deep clean, and a total service; so you'll be problem free for the future.
Spec's are:
Frame - Mystery Maker (see original thread) 62cm ctc seat tube, 60cm ctc top tube. Powder Coated in super sparkle silver. Zeus Dropouts, good tight DT clearance without toeoverlap, room for 28c tyres, maybe bigger if you want.
Forks - Custom Made By Rusby Cycles, Ritchey crown and fork ends, Reynolds 631 blades. Drilled. (It's worth pointing out that they just have surface rust. I've been careful to wipe them down with WD40, there is no pitting or flaking. A stiff wire brush will have them shiny in no time, or get them painted for a flawless finish)
Headset - BBB Sealed Bearing (head tube was faced before fitting)
Bottom Bracket - Shimano UN55 (aka basically indestructible)
Cranks - Mavic 631 Starfish with 52t Mavic chainring (Will include a 48t if I can find it)
Chain - Wipperman ConneX
Front Wheel - Halo Aero Warrior 24mm wide rim (some marks from brake useage), stainless spokes & Halo Hub (will include a new spare set of bearing incase they ever need a change).
Rear Wheel - Halo Aero Warrior 24mm wide rim, stainless spokes, Converted Shimano XT M756 hub, for ISO Cogs, 20t currently installed. (more Info in this thread about why this is better than stupid lock rings), I will also include several spare cogs. Also Inc. Nitto NJS chain tug.
Tyres - 25c gator front, 25c gator hardshell rear (Almost new only used for maybe 50km)
Seatpost / Saddle - Brand X Inline, Cannondale Saddle
Stem - 3t (120mm)
Bars - Nitto B260AA
Grips / Bar ends - Proper team grips (actually comfortable without gloves, unlike ODI). ODI bar ends.
Bell - Brass Crane (Made in Japan, basically NJS, ding ding guijin)
As you can see the frame has some small scuffs and scratches but nothing serious, there is a small ding on the NDS of the headtube, but being a steel frame, this is purely cosmetic.
PRICE - £400
Viewings / collection - N19
Pedals aren't included, but if you're really desperate for them we can talk. Also If you need a brake fitted, let me know, I still have the one I used to use with matching super sparkle silver cable 😎.
