Thanks, did think about tires but I think the rolling resistance will get me so opted without. Really stiff ride.

Genius is great tubing..very lightweight. When talking to a few framebuilders in the past, they didn't recommend it for a heavier rider using it because it is quite thin.
Also, if it's going to be an every day street bike that's going to be constantly locked to stuff/ridden hard, you might want to reconsider since it's one of the easier frames to dent. My friend had a Samson Genius frame and he said it was a magnet for small dents..but he loved it still.
I believe Genius is 0.7 / 0.4/ 0.7 which is about the same as Kasei 017
Very light but not sure how I would feel about day-to-day street use. -

Love that Makino. What color is that? Looks almost like an ivory.
I prefer a slightly dinged NJS frame. I felt that if I paid more for a perfect one, I'm constantly going to worry about every new ding/dent/scratch....and I'll end up babying it too much and that first ding/deep scratch will annoy me.
When the frame already has some scars, it just takes away "it has to stay perfect" stress so you can just focus on riding/enjoying it without worry.
Very classy, I want a Kalavinka..
