Yeah I had that issue.
No, my skinsuit held it in place fine.

Anfield 100:
Perry 3:33:20
Bideau 3:36:18
Irwin 3:42:10
Nobody else under 3:50Nationals is hotting up to be a good fight.

Indeed. I rode the last 11km like that - left hand holding this floppy bars up, right hand on the base bar. Textbook. No gear changes!

The Hounslow 100 served its task as a kit proving ground well. Better that they broke yesterday than 16 hours into the 24...

Might give it a try. Spanks.

Lucky. Could've been worse. You're on the right forum for no gear changes :)

I was there, Jess won the women's with an insane negative split after being 7min down at halfway.
Dope testing for Perry, Irwin, Bideau - the organiser apparently swore blind that it was the result of "pulling the numbers out of a hat" which is, of course, a complete lie. Good to see them there though - 3-4 others got tested too.

I still have my PX from last year, with my schedule (519) sellotaped to the bars... But I've lent it to a local chap who's new to TT but was then undiplomatic enough to beat me.
I think plan will be to fix the Shiv with some new bars for training plus race but definitely take two bikes.

You never know what else might fail and when you're at the pointy end it matters. Especially in your case going for a comp record you want that safety net.

• #13212
How do they pick events to test? Seem to favour 100s.
-
• #13213
Why bother fibbing that it's 'out of a hat'. Just say you're testing the podium, as they do at proper races.
Hell of a ride from Perry. Class.
That is a big negative, guess she knows she can go harder from start next time, oh the fun!

I thought testing was targeted at the winner, and then weighted random draw based on speed?

Looking forward to national 50 in a few weeks, be good to see some real cream rise to the top and sort the best out.

What's perry's history?
I know he was 3rd at BTTC last year, but he's stepped up this year again.
Did he only start cycling 4 years ago?

They did pull the numbers out of a hat, it's just that only selected numbers were ever put in the hat :-)

I think they just test people who've done well previously. I was tested in Wales along with BillyO, not sure if the winner (Kieron) was tested. Same as the Nat 12 'winner' being tested at a 100 the week later.

• #13219
Nat 25 winner, wasn't he?
-
• #13220
Before that.
3rd BTTC '15 > Nat 25

• #13221
Just road I think. There was an article about him somewhere saying he'd only just got into TTing but might stick with it a bit.

Hey @umop3pisdn do you still have the hydro pack that you didn't get along with? Want rid of it?
Nevermind, you've seen me in the other place. :)

Gokd article thanks. Clearly got some good genetics. Fast man.

Anfield 100 'baselayer bidons'
I used to do this but my old man bladder would need a piss too soon.
Did you stitch a base layer to hold it or tape it to your body or something?
