Those things are pretty cool, but beyond expensive. $630 for a pair...

Don't #thepros use Ultegra brakes when they want to use bigger tyres?
Look closer at that photo above and you’ll also spot the use of an Ultegra brake caliper, not the Dura-Ace item you might expect to see. This isn’t down to cost, it’s simply because the Ultegra caliper allows greater tyre clearance than the more expensive Dura-Ace brake.

Are you sure you don't want room voor 32c tyres at some point? Especially if you want to use it for touring.

With a little consideration to Junction-B placement (a little forward of BB). You could do this With Di2, if that suited better. I'd be tempted to go this route With the addition of something by the S&S opening I could use to zip tie the Junction B to. So I didnt have to Fish for it.
Still if you like Sram.

Not much room for a mudguard.
-
• #36
Wouldn't 30c with mudguards be better even if you have a light load when touring?
-
• #37
Yep. But put the 25 on as specified and it'll fit a guard just fine. 28 without. 25 with is the plan
-

Put a 25 in there and take a pic!

but when its wet is when you'd rather have a larger contact patch

I've got in the back of my mind a 650b wheelset for the Time Machine for winter in order to get a large volume tyre plus mudguards, then take the mudguards off and run 700x30c for summer.
Of course, this is enabled by disc brakes, bit trickier with calipers.

Did you evaluate using the magnetic fixings as Scott did, rather than velcro?

This is rad³ - can't wait to see it finished
-
• #47
Totally, but I wont be using the bag much and dont want extra fuss in the frame for them. It's just cool to have an option for holidays.
