    Looks like you were using them backwards, I'm not sure that manufacturers have allowed for that in their design. Even plain gauge tube will be weaker at the bend, and using them backwards will put more stress on the bend, according to classical analysis of a cantilever.

  • It's not actually my bike, I am very lucky to have a long-term loan of a Shiv. However it is 2010 and the extensions are old, as as you pointed out, the wrong way round. Turning moment = Force x distance proved the deciding factor here - and seven and a half laps of that course in a few weeks proved too much.

    To replace them, people have already suggested either Zipp or D2Z extensions if I want high hands.
