Was that on the Holybourne to Chawton leg, or is there another tribar killer on the loose?
Looks like you were using them backwards, I'm not sure that manufacturers have allowed for that in their design. Even plain gauge tube will be weaker at the bend, and using them backwards will put more stress on the bend, according to classical analysis of a cantilever.
