  • just got home to find my pompino has be stolen from outside the back of my block, in NW6 (Broadhurst Gardens). typically the only day where i leave it as i had football after work...
    also got complacent and only had the secondary lock securing it, rookie error.

    One-On Pompino XL frame (dent in top tube, stickers aplenty);
    No-name carbon forks;
    New H+son archetypes laced to Phil Wood high-flange wheels;
    Easton EA50 monkey bars, came tape;
    Connor saddle - seat post has a non-standard bolt, so the seat may stay crazy high for a while;
    TA specialties cranks

    Thanks!

  • Keep an eye out

  • Got my Caad3 stolen from my doorstep during the night. It's all Atomic22'd so it will be fun to try and sell it as they can't even fix a flat without the keys but that's only of partial help. If anyone eyes it anywhere please please please get in touch either here or better on 07500700335.

    It looks exactly like the one in the photo, exact same components.

  • More than 6 years ago in early 2010 I had my very first fixed gear bike stolen, a Ridgeback Solo World. A very basic bike but I was really crushed and reported it to the police with the frame number etc. For months I'd scour eBay and bike racks etc. with no success.

    To my huge surprise this morning I got a phone call from an unknown number, a PC Jankowski from the Met Police informing me they had done a raid in Brick Lane and recovered a bike with my frame number...! I went and picked it up today. Still has the green bar tape I put on it. God knows what adventures it's been on in the last 6 years. It's a bit like the Event Horizon suddenly reappearing, except in a good way.

  • Nice to see something positive on this thread for once!

  • Agreed.

    Current Projects thread ahead, right? :-)

  • @photoben had his super amazing Dear Susan stolen from Upper Street yesterday. He's having trouble logging in so sharing this on his behalf.
    Please keep your eyes peeled and cover it in locks if you spot it. Paint, forks and rack are super distinctive so even with a spray over it's as distinctive as it gets.

    Contact Ben or Cycle Task Force with sightings.

  • Oh no! One of the most distinctive bikes around, though. This must be found.

    Im still ragging mine around! I think @lolabelle owned one too. Well thought out and built frames - I'd be gutted if mine vanished.

    Glad yours turned up, if only bikes could speak!

  • Stolen between 13.30 and 16.30 outside island gardens dlr station today.

    Cannondale CAAD4 R500 tapas blue with silver flames. Black Thompson stem and seatpost. White bar tape, bottle cage and selle Italia SLR saddle. It also had a Garmin mount on the stem, and cadence/ speed sensor on the NDS chain-stay.

    I'm gutted and feel stupid. Waiting for a police call back and trying to contact tower hamlets council for CCTV

    Photos to follow when I get home.

  • How was it locked?

  • ^^^^ found already. Wasn't stolen. The silly cucumber just parked it somewhere else...

  • Locked - Front QR wheel off, locked to sheffield stand through back wheel and seat stays.

    here is the most recent photo minus the Thompson bits...

  • Sheeeet. Which lock?

  • Oh dear. A sort of teddy moment for Ben? :)

  • It was a kryptonite evolution D lock.

  • Yup, I now join the list of "idiots claiming their bike was stolen, but just forgot where that left it". Not my finest hour.

  • Right, thanks.

  • Was burgled in the early hours of Wednesday 8th, door forced open. Had my red Olmo single speed stolen from my place in Reighton Road, Clapton (E5). The front forks are chrome not red. It was left in a hallway entrance to my flat. Have checked all the 'usual' places it might turn up today but will scour Brick Lane market tomorrow. There's been multiple bike thefts on my road this week. If anyone see's it please let me know 07703272671. Thanks.
